About Credit For Life
A Roseville, California company helping people understand their credit and their loan options since 2018.
- Roseville, CA office since 2018
- Free loan-matching service
- Credit-education focus
Credit For Life has been part of the Roseville, California community since 2018. We started by helping local clients with credit repair and credit counseling, and that experience still shapes how we work today.
Credit for Life LLC, the company behind the brand, was acquired by its current owners, who kept the name and the local office while changing the business model. Today, Credit For Life operates as a free loan-matching service: you submit one request, which goes to our network partner that provides the loan request form; that partner may share it with lenders and partners in our network who may make you an offer.
What hasn't changed is our credit-education focus. Alongside loan matching, we publish plain-English guides to how credit checks work, what California law caps on payday and installment loans, and how to borrow responsibly — because understanding the terms of a loan matters as much as getting one.
Our Approach to Lending
Transparency
We explain how we make money and how the matching process works, in plain language, before you submit anything. See advertiser disclosure.
Soft check first
Seeing your options should not, by itself, put your credit score at risk. Most lenders in our network start with a soft credit inquiry.
California Rules in Plain English
We break down the state's payday and installment loan caps in plain terms, with the exact numbers, on our rates and terms page.
Alternatives, always
A loan isn't right for every situation. Our responsible borrowing guide covers credit union PALs, nonprofit counseling and other options.
Transparency: Explaining the Real Numbers
California caps what payday and installment lenders can charge, but the caps are written into statute, not into a headline. A $300 payday loan check can carry a fee of up to 15% ($45), which sounds small until you see it as roughly 460% APR over 14 days. An installment loan under $2,500 has its own tiered rate cap; one from $2,500 to $9,999 is capped at 36% per year plus the federal funds rate; and $10,000 and up has no statutory cap at all. We think you should see those numbers before you apply, not after — that's why our rates and terms page walks through each tier with a representative example and a calculator.
We also try to be upfront about what we are. Credit For Life doesn't set anyone's APR and can't promise an offer. What we can do is explain the process clearly, connect you with lenders who may be able to help, and point you toward alternatives — like a credit union Payday Alternative Loan or nonprofit credit counseling — when a loan isn't the right fit.
